About Us
Hidden in a quiet little valley in Southern Oregon, in the tiny town of Azalea, Suncatcher Food Forest rests beneath a cathedral of cedar and pine. Here, the land whispers, the soil hums, and every leaf, root, and stone tells a story. The Queen of the property is a black cat named Bella. She insists that she runs the place.

We farm with hands in the soil and hearts tuned to the seasons. In a world that prizes uniformity and in an industry that rewards monoculture, we choose diversity, no-till cultivation, and regenerative stewardship. Half of our land is left wild, a sanctuary for native plants, birds, and woodland spirits. The other half is alive with fruit trees, berries, herbs, vegetables, and the curious plants that wander in and stay.

Our guiding belief is simple: when the land thrives, everything else flourishes. Rich soil feeds vibrant crops, clean water sings in the streams, and every bite of our food carries the living essence of the earth. Even the tiniest microbes—inside soil, plant, or human—rejoice in the abundance we nurture.

We craft more than food, we craft experiences of flavor and earthiness. From hand-picked fruits and vegetables to sungrown berries, refined sugar free jams, and small-batch sprouted and stone-ground nut butters (walnut, hazelnut, almond, chocolate-hazelnut, watermelon seed, pumpkin seed, and coconut), every jar carries the taste of the land.

Cannot wander down to a farmers market? No matter! The food forest will send its bounty to you. We ship! Reach out at SuncatcherFoodForest@gmail.com and let the earth’s magic arrive at your door.
Practices
Organic Methods:
At Suncatcher Food Forest, we care for the land with simple, honest, earth-honoring practices. We guide our gardens with natural pest management—using insect-barrier row covers and tucking onions, herbs, and plenty of flowers throughout the beds to invite balance, pollinators, and beneficial companions. We keep the soil covered with mulch to discourage weeds and protect the living world beneath, with hand weeding (and the occasional wheel hoe) when needed. We practice no-till methods to honor the soil biology and keep the underground ecosystem intact and thriving.

Certifications:
While we have chosen not to take on the cost and paperwork of formal organic certification, but our growing and pruning methods fully reflect organic principles of our commitment to nurturing clean, vibrant, biodiverse food from the ground up.
